Peter Ridsdale kicked it all off a few seasons ago. He gambled on Champions League glory and lost. Ridsdale borrowed money to buy players and pay the mega wages against the club and guarranteed the bank a percentage of gate receipts. He sold the ground to raise money for players then rented it back. The gambled on Champions League qualification after making the semis and never qualified again. That's when the decline started. Gates dropped, players earned more and the club couldn't cope. When Kewell went to Liverpool for over £7m Leeds got around £1.5m at the most. The majority went to Kewell and his agent. Once they started selling their best players they were done for. Kris Kamara said on skysports.com this morning that Leeds should go into administration now to avoid the points deduction next season. It is sneaky and wipes out the debts immediately. The club was bought by a consortium led by Bates straight away. So, jusdging by media reports, Leeds were in administration a matter of hours. Surely that should be looked in to by the FA and Football League. Leeds United is a tale of how not to chase the dream andit makes me glad we have a board as good as ours even if I do want them to spend a bit more on players. |

They can't avoid a reduction of points if they do it after their last game chopper. They have to do it before - like Leeds. |

Obviously a bit of rivalry between Lincoln and Boston, but Boston are a team I genuinely feel sorry for. When you read about Gerrard considering a new £6m a year contract, you know where the new TV money is going. No trickle-down to the lower leagues. As for Leeds, the media haven't stopped crying about it all week. Dry yer eyes, Radio 5 |

Boston will probably be well and truly hammered because they are only a small club and not the nation's darlings. It's a shame, because the ones who should be hammered with a points deduction are the Hammers themselves. |

It looks like Boston have done just that. See link-Boston agree CVA It would appear the arrangements were set in place during the last few minutes of the game v Wrexham. Jackoblue |

Cheating Leeds, supported by the authorities, now there's a surprise. I wonder how Rotherham fans feel about that decision. As someone said, Ken Bates is certain for player of the season next season, having already gained them 10 points. |
